Stage lighting, as can be inferred by name, referring to the stage lighting that is used for performances such as theater, dance, opera and other art forms. Stage lighting is not just a problem of illumination. A person responsible for lighting the stage need to understand the style, balance, aesthetics and also human emotions and psychology. His skills should include a thorough understanding of the science of light, optics, vision, perception and lighting technology.

Light has properties of a certain inherent processes that affect the eye and brain, causing feelings and emotions. An understanding of this concept helps in effective stage lighting.
