Monorail lighting uses low-voltage power with a single circuit and two conductors. Monorail is customizable to fit any style and lighting applications. Low voltage track lighting is needed for accent and task lighting with its halogen and xenon bulbs.

There are three types of fixtures that can be attached to monorail - QP Pendants, QF heads, and basic monorail fixtures. If you are using QF heads and QP Pendants, you will need a quick connect adapter. But, the basic monorail fixtures can be attached directly to the track.

Generally, glass and metal shapes are the common materials used for monorail fixtures. The shades come in different variations. Almost all fixtures are supplied with 12 voltage bulbs. If the transformer used has 24Voltage, it is important to use 24V bulb. You can also choose to use low wattage, if the bulb is too bright; by using low voltage track lighting.

The monorail lighting fixture is s metallic rail that is used to power and suspend light fixtures. Although metallic, they can be bent and their shape can be changed. Apart from monorail they are also known as curved track lighting, flex track lighting and flexible track lighting. Monorail lighting is commonly confused with cable lighting and track lighting as they are from the same category; linear lighting. But they are different and should not be confused as the same. The monorail comes in a variety of attractive colors that run across the rail and highlight these colors in the space between the lights. They are also available in different metallic finishes like antique bronze, chrome, gold and satin nickel. This type of lighting can be used when adjustable lighting is required. The focal points of these lights can be adjusted and they provide a good solution if you have not decided the areas that need to be lit.
